Entry Level Medical Physicist/Remote (Bullhead City, AZ)
Job Description
Works on-site/remote with one or more clinical sites in collaboration with the cancer center responsible senior physicist to ensure high quality and safe interpretation, delivery, operation, and monitoring of radiation safety policies, procedures, standards, and equipment for Radiation Oncology Services. Responsible for ensuring delivery of high-quality radiation therapy while providing workers with the proper education and training and oversight to minimize radiation exposure. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform weekly continuing medical physics consultations
Perform initial treatment plan quality checks
Perform special medical physics consultations
Analyze IMRT patient specific QA
Perform monthly QA
Perform Annual QA (with the Chief Medical Physics supervision)
Qualifications
Hold a master’s or doctor’s degree in Physics, Medical Physics, other physical science, engineering, or applied mathematics from an accredited college or university, and have completed one year of full-time training in medical Physics and an additional year of full-time work experience under the supervision of a Qualified Medical Physicist at a medical institution. This training and work experience shall be conducted in clinical radiation facilities that provide high-energy external beam radiation therapy (photons and electrons with energies greater than or equal to one MV/one MeV).
